Lipstick is a powerful thing–one swipe can transform your look in seconds. But applying it can be a little intimidating, especially if you’re still new to the lipstick game. So we rounded up three different ways to help you get the perfect pout!
1. Perfect edge:
Skip the lip pencil and fill lips with color. Use a flat lipstick brush and outline your lips. Use concealer around the outside edge for over-the-top pop.
2. Soft edge:
Apply color to the inner parts of lips, leaving the outer edges untouched. Use a fluffy eyeshadow brush to blend outwards. No brush? No prob. Dab with your finger.
3. Find your nude:
To find your ideal nude, first assess the color of your naked lip–pink, purple, brown, apricot?–then pick a lipstick that mimics it.
For any of these methods, it’s important to first prep your lips by exfoliating and moisturizing. Beyond that, there’s not one “right” way–play around, have fun, and find the method(s) that work for you!
